I am using the core editor and I have noticed lately that the buffer tabs have a life of their own. I find (or don’t find) that at some point a tab closed, not by my action, and that to get it back I have to select if from the menu at which point the tab reappears across the top.
Is this expected behaviour?
I’d do a screen record but for some reason my screen recording on Mint has broken and it just records garbage!
Not really. It sometimes happens, but it never bothered me enough to figure out when. I guess it is some goto/open command that uses open-in-same-tab rather than creating a new tab. If you know the reproducible sequence of commands, please share. Shouldn’t be hard to fix.

Agreed, it’s not a big problem…one for later… 
I am not sure what the reproducible steps are right now, I never notice a tab go away, only that it’snot there…maybe a case of Schrodeinger Tabs ?
