Best/easiest way to downgrade to version 8.4.3, on Linux Ubuntu 20.04

I have little clue on the PPA policies for keeping old versions. Building from source is probably the safest way to get a specific version on a specific OS version.

I can confirm, unfortunately, that pyswip still has this problem (with swipl 9.0.4). Happily this still fixes the issue!

You can also consider the new Janus Python interface. It has a lot more features. Setting it up can cause problems, mostly because the C API of Python differs between even point releases :frowning: On Windows there is the python3.dll that hides this if you are happy to stick with an older API, but other OSes do not provide this library (at least I didn’t find any).
