Backtracking issue on fail

I have this issue of backtracking on fail. Let me show you an example of my problem. First version - CODE check_somthing(A) :- between(1, 3, A). do_something :- check_somthing(A), format("[FAIL] ~a~n", [A]), fail. do_something :- format("[SUCCESS]~n", []), !, fail. First version - OUTPUT ?- do_something. [FAIL] 1 [FAIL] 2 [FAIL] 3 [SUCCESS] false.
